 Many tourists in Dubrovnik over the last few days have tried various ways to get back home after the cloud ash disrupted air travel in Europe. How about this Dubrovnik to London by taxi! Sonja Norman, a tourist from England, needed to get back to London because her daughter was due to take important school exams. After every other option had failed, she even contemplated taking the Orient Express from Venice to London, she decided to hail a taxi. For the taxi driver, Zvonko Pilaš, it will be the longest and most expensive fare of his career. The 2,200 kilometres journey will cost Sonja 3,000 Euros. The last news was that they were somewhere near Brussels, however getting across the English Channel could prove difficult as ferries and the Channel Tunnel have been full for days.
