Dubrovnik film festival 2010.For the sixth year in a row the Libertas Film Festival will turn Dubrovnik into a film stage. Top films from all around the world on outdoor screening locations, celebrity guests, parties and live concerts… And this year's program is even better than in our previous editions.

In the competitive program section, the audience will have the opportunity to see some of the best films of the latest production - critically acclaimed award winning titles that come from major festivals such as Berlin, Cannes, Venice and Toronto. All of the films at Libertas are signed by famous authors and talented young filmmakers. As before, Libertas will also present the less known cinema jewels, and this time our discoveries come from Vietnam and Iceland...

The popular Midnight Madness program, devoted to horrors and thrillers, will bring terrible creatures from nightmares as well as laughter to tears. This year's guest of the Focus program is Russia, a country of great filmmakers and great films! We must emphasize one of the films, How I Ended the Summer, the winner of three Silver Bear awards at this year's Berlinale. A real treat awaits you in the documentary film program Film & Food - dedicated to gastronomy, cooking, celebrity chefs and military cooks, restaurants and natural foods which will awake the gourmet in you. We must mention the always interesting short competitive program that will, once again, introduce young authors, and (trust us!) future directing stars.

Wait, there's more! Libertas Film Festival, in collaboration with the Croatian Film Club's Association, will organize an animated film workshop for the members of the newly opened Dubrovnik Film Club. The six day workshop will include 12 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students of the Dubrovnik High School, who will make a short animated film. The workshop manager is Jasminka Bijelić Ljubić, head of Čakovec Animation School, and a guest lecturer Jerzy Moszkowich, director of the famous Polish children's film festival AleKino!. With this orientation and children's animation film, Libertas and AleKino! will celebrate 60 years of Polish animation, so don't free screening for children and those who still feel like one.

Join us in Dubrovnik at the Libertas Film Festival from 2nd to 6th July and enjoy the seventh art in the best way – surrounded with the most beautiful sea in the world and under the walls of the eternal city covered the stars streaked sky, while enjoying the ‘stars’ on the silver screen! If you're in the right place at the right time maybe see them live, enjoying a walk on Stradun.
