The New York Times recently published a list of 45 international destinations that should be visited this year in the Travel section of its website, as well as in the printed edition. Dubrovnik came in 36th and was described as "St. Tropez of the Balkans", with equal parts of classic and modern offers. The article mentions the fact that Dubrovnik has had good results in the last five years, especially thanks to the western market, and that the number of visitors has been growing by about 10 percent per year. It points out that Dubrovnik is often reffered to as the jewel of the Adriatic, and describes its marble streets, Renaissance fountains and white sandy beaches...
