Vranjic, a small village located north of Split, until recently known only by its industry, should soon get its first family hotel with four stars. It will have about a hundred beds in top quality rooms and an excellent restaurant which will complement the facilities of the port. The building of the port is envisaged in the area of Vranjičko Blato near the mouth of the Jadar...
The small port should have about 130 berths and some supporting facilities, such as a hangar, a winch for boats, a small restaurant, several smaller tennis and football courts and a small swimming pool. Because of its beauty and direct contact with the sea, Vranjic has in the past been called Little Venice. The latest archaeological research has revealed that Vranjic was inhabited in prehistoric times.

Today a peninsula and in ancient times an island, it attracted people to live there, so the archaeological evidence is witness to prehistoric life from the Roman era to the present day. In the mid 70s of the last century the remains of the port from Roman times and many stone monuments, inscriptions, tombstones and fragments of architectural decoration were discovered. Many are preserved in the Archaeological Museum in Split, and the others are built into the houses that were built in the late 19th and early 20th century.
In recent decades Vranjic was primarily known by the industry which has been extinguished, so the population increasingly began to engage in tourism, for which Vranjic has great potentials.
